Jackson Arts Council announces Creative Support Grant recipients

The Jackson Arts Council is very pleased to announce the recipients for the inaugural Creative Support Grant. The Creative Support Grant is an unrestricted grant for local artists in the Jackson-Madison County area. Through a competitive grant process, the Jackson Arts Council will be awarding 6 grants of $1,500 to local artists.

The artistic disciplines eligible for the grant were Music, Film/Photography, Visual Art, Dance, and Literature.

The artists who will be receiving the grant for FY25 are:

  • Alice Hardin - Music

  • Bill Marable - Literature

  • Noah Stewart - Photography

  • Belinda Patterson - Visual Art

  • Stephanie Wilbourn - Visual Art

  • Hattie Duncan - Visual Art

The Creative Support grant program enables the Jackson Arts Council to demonstrate the value of artists’ work in our county by supporting working artists in their artistic practice. This program contributes to the vitality of our artistic community and helps Jackson attract and retain creatives invested in our community. Through this program, we honor the work of seasoned artist, advance the work of mid-career artists, and nurture the work of emerging artists.

There will be a reception to honor the award recipients on November 12th at the Greater Jackson Chamber from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
